Aussie Skate

The Aussie Skate program has been specifically designed to suit the needs of all people wanting to learn to ice skate.

Some people may wish to skate just for fun, others for fitness. Some may want to Free Skate, Figure Skate or Precision Skate while others may want to play Ice Hockey or Speed Skate. What ever your aim the Aussie Skate program is designed to let you learn the basic moves of skating which all skaters need to know before they move into the more specialised areas.

There are 18 levels (currently being reviewed) that are tested along the way, where the successful test earns a corresponding badge. Competitions are organised through all clubs in Victoria and Interstate where skaters can compete if that is their desire. The highlight of the Aussie Skate calendar is the Aussie Skate Championships held yearly in Canberra.

When...

Monday to Friday evenings from 5:00pm, running approximately 30-40 minutes Saturday and Sunday mornings from 9:30am, running approximately 30-40 minutes (Beginners classes may all start on the same day. The day can vary depending on the level of new members.  Class days may be split or amalgamated to optomize class sizes) Current classes running on Friday night and Sunday morning but may run Monday or Wednesday night from first term 2010 depending on skater interest and availability. Students can use the whole session to skate (4-6pm weeknights and 8.30-10.30am weekends)

Coaches...

Our coaches have been through the Aussie Skate program themselves so they have first hand experience right through to the highest levels of Aussie Skate and National level main stream figure skating.  They are young, enthusiastic and great with all levels and all ages of skaters.  While teaching the fundamentals of Ice Skating they are also focused on the students having fun.

Cost...

A single lesson including skate hire - $19.00
First 5 week lesson (payable on commencement) - $105.00 ($70.00 lessons, $20.00 Aussie Skate membership & $15.00 Ice Skating Club of Bendigo membership)
After the first 5 lessons the cost will be $70.00 for 5 weeks or $135.00 for 10 weeks

Aussie Skate members will receive a membership card which must be handed in and hole punched at the beginning of every lesson.
